Search Engine Marketing (SEM) There are two categories of Search: 1) SEO Is the art and science of attracting search engines to present your site when a user enters a search term. This is also called organic. When an organic link is clicked, there is NOT a charge to the company. 2) SEM Is paid search. That is, when a search is performed, paid search links will be presented. If one of these links are clicked, the company will be charged. Even though this seems simple, don’t be mislead. There is still and art and science to SEM. For instance, the same exact search term could cause a company more (and sometimes much more) and another company who knows how to properly structure their pay-for-click campaigns. |
